About Believing Through Achieving
Believing Through Achieving is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on a single observation: you cannot talk someone into confidence. Telling a person to believe in themselves almost never works. Watching them do something they were certain they could not do works almost every time.
Everything we build starts there — and everything we build is designed to reach the people most likely to be turned away somewhere else.
What we built
The ACHIEVE Method
Most martial arts instruction assumes a nervous system that regulates itself. Ours does not. The ACHIEVE Method is a sensory-integration approach to martial arts instruction, developed here, built specifically for autistic and neurodivergent learners — sequencing, pacing and sensory load designed around how the student actually processes input rather than around how a traditional class is run.
It is the reason a child who has been asked to leave other programs can complete ours.
Programs that reach past the barrier to entry
Confidence built through accomplishment shouldn’t be available only to families who can afford a monthly tuition. We build our programs so that socioeconomic status is not the thing that decides who gets to develop it — for children, women and men alike. That principle runs through all three of our program areas: Movement, Language and Opportunity.
Joshua T. George — Founder

Joshua T. George founded Believing Through Achieving and created the ACHIEVE Method.
He is a seventh-degree black belt in combat martial arts who was named a Master of Shaolin Kempo at twenty-six — the youngest person to hold the title — and has spent thirty-five years teaching across civilian, law enforcement and military programs. That work is where the ACHIEVE Method came from: decades of watching which students were being failed by conventional instruction, and rebuilding the instruction around them instead.
He is also the author of Fear No Conversation, forthcoming from Greenleaf Book Group in 2027, on what martial composure has to do with the conversations most people dread. He speaks on the subject at TEDx Arkansas State University in September 2026, in a talk titled “The Lower the Stakes, the Worse I Get.”
Robert Diamant
Director of Marketing & Communication

Robert Diamant is a movement-based educator, fifth-degree black belt, and director of marketing and communication of Believing Through Achieving. For more than thirty-five years he has used structured movement and communication training to help students build confidence they can carry off the mat.
Jeff Kash
Director of Education

Jeff Kash was awarded his sixth-degree black belt at the Shaolin Temple in China in 2018 and has taught martial arts in Laguna Beach for more than twenty-four years. He worked alongside Joshua T. George on the curriculum for the ACHIEVE Method and on related program development for Believing Through Achieving, and has written extensively for BTA on adaptive instruction, online training, and building confidence through martial arts. Jeff currently runs his own studio, Laguna Beach Dojo, where he teaches students from age three through adult.
